Sue recommends Maria J Toro, LMP for massage, "Great value for the money".

I started seeing Maria with my acute hip pain. Friends had mentioned MAria for years, and it took me being in extreme pain, and my wits end before finally making the call to get on her books. For two weeks I went in twice a week for treatments of massage therapy. Maria really fixed my hip. Now I have more range of motion, and no pain. MY PAIN IS GONE! She gave me "homework" which consisted of stretches and being aware of my own body mechanics, so that I would improve my situation on my own, and not re-injure myself while away. One of my favorite things I noticed about Maria, is that she is always in school and educating herself. She has so many "tools" to choose from when working with me, its never the same massage, and I am never bored. I enjoy my massages with Maria. I feel like I get a great value for the money and my benefits are everything from feeling free of pain, increased range of motion, and I feel lighter, more energetic when I leave, upbeat! Maria's place is warm and welcoming. Its modern, she is into art and all sorts of healing gemstones and gongs and singing bowls. The energy of the space is healing as soon as you set foot in the door. I can't say enough positive things about my experiences and bodywork with Maria. She is such a gifted young lady, and I know I am doing something GREAT for myself each time I book with her…my only regret, is that I should have listened to my friends, and scheduled sooner. You are sooooo good girl! -Sue P. (Magnolia).

Little somethin-somethin to nibble on!

Your thoughts and beliefs, are the single most important indicators to your health. Mind your thoughts. Mindfulness = health.

Alexa recommends Maria for sharing her gift of massage!

"I have been fortunate enough to be receiving massages from Maria for over half of my life! My Mother was a client of Maria’s and introduced me to massage at a young age, instilling in me how important it is to take care of your body. I remember the feeling after my first massage—it was one that I never wanted to go away! Complete, utter relaxation in an environment where every worry dissipates and I am free to focus on the mind-body connection of which so many of us lose sight. Maria has a gift. She obtains physical strength to mend the knots and twists in my muscles and infuses her touch with healing energy that is especially renewing. Maria has one focus: to help her clients feel relaxed, happy, and worthy of massage." -Alexa J. (Seattle)

Ken of Queen Anne, thinks MARIA IS THE BEST!

"Maria is the best. She brought full mobility back to my shoulder, twice...when others had told me I should probably look into surgery. She's a miracle worker, and an amazing and kind human being. We're lucky to know her!" -Ken B. (Upper Queen Anne)

Favorite Bob Marley Quote:

"I woke up this morning, SMILED at the rising sun"

Don't PLAY the victim.

We cannot CONTROL the way that others may act, however, we can be mindful on how we respond. Reach for your breath first. This will begin to give you a clear head, sometimes counting your breathes takes this to the next level of relaxation and connected mindfulness, additionally it creates more space/time. Its less about control and more about discipline. When we try and control everything, the only other place to go is OUT OF CONTROL. This is dangerous for many reasons. Instead, with mindfulness and breath work, you can slow down and be FLEXIBLE. Discipline requires flexibility. Its like yoga for the mind! Stretch your brain around that YO! XOXO, Meta-Maria!

Thought of the day:

Develop as a HUMAN BEING, as a woman. Be a good leader.

Kathy from Magnolia recommends Maria Toro, LMP

Maria has been my massage therapist for the last 14 plus years. During that time, we have worked on injuries and simple relaxation for stress management. I always feel relaxed and rejuvenated when I leave, its like taking a vacation or getting on a plane without having to pack a bag or the expense of going on vacation…or being tired from the travel aspect of vacation! Maria's space is just lovely; clean, modern, soothing and light. Speaking of light... her energy is light, healing and refreshing! I feel like I went to a fancy spa, with the convenience of neighborhood parking and individual specialized attention. I like working with Maria because she is very knowledgeable of the body. Like a therapist, her background is solid and almost like receiving physical therapy, I ALWAYS feel improved as I leave. U walk in one person and literally leave completely improved! Maria connects my mind and body while working with me, and gives me homework to improve my conditions while away; it is so WHOLE BODY HEALING. Therapy. Healing. Highly affordable bodywork, I will be loyal always, and I refer my friends and family members often because I feel very comfortable and safe with her in her space. I believe she is the very best in her field, and I have traveled all over the world and visited many spas. Maria is by far high quality and the very best in her field of practice. Kathy B. (Magnolia)

Marina HIghly recommends Maria for massage and healing!

"I started seeing Maria after a car accident that I was in last year. The chiropractor told me that I had whiplash and I needed to see a massage therapist twice a week. I had heard of Maria from a friend and made an appointment with her. After my first massage with Maria I felt so much better. My neck which was so stiff and could barely turn was now turnable and my headache had gone away. Every single massage I noticed a huge difference in how I felt. After seeing Maria so consistently I also mentally felt so much lighter. Maria is not just a massage therapist, she is a healer. She is also a wealth of knowledge. I picked her brain as much as I could and learned so much about the human body, energy healing, crystals, sound therapy, minerals, everything. Maria is the person to see not just for car accidents or a sore muscle, but if you are going through a transition in your life and need to br grounded. Thank you Maria for all the love you healing you gave me and for getting me back to feeling healthy and happy again! I highly recommend this woman (for all the love and healing you gave me~)". -Marina P. (Seattle/LA)

I found this, and thought it a MUST to share with you!

"Everything that has happened along the way—forget it. Forget about the first love that broke your heart. And forget about the last break too. Forget the time a friend you thought was best pushed a knife in your back. Forget the words and the spite that resound in your head. Forget the trauma that injured your flesh or your bones. Forget the rejection you felt when someone failed to recognise your value. Forget the tears that cleansed your soul. Forget the mistakes that everyone makes. Forget what you gave, without return. Forget the mistrust, the resentment and the jealousy. Forget about lies, betrayal and deceit. Forget about the ones that got away—they were not meant. Forget the time someone tripped you and caused a fall. Forget the times you gambled but forgot you could lose. Forget about whispers and gossips and stories—it is all an illusion, the truth only lives in one self. Forget about rules and regulations—make new. Forget about thinking—let the mind sit still. Forget about time—let your heartbeat decide. Forget about fear, it will paralyse—it is useless. Forget about perfection, it is unobtainable—imperfection is true beauty. And forget about forgetting—allow the release to happen. Naturally. Then try as you can, to remember this… Everything is already a part of you, the lessons have been learned, the memories etched and the effects have sunk in. There is no need to hold on—it all already exists, so allow it. Let it just be. Without grasping. Without pressing repeat. It all had a purpose, once, long ago. Even if it was yesterday, or a minute ago—it has now passed. Past. So just breathe…and breathe again. Deeply. Right here, right now. You are alive. You survived. In this very moment, this one… here… You can choose. Choose to live. Run. Fly. Wildly. Begin again. And begin to feel alive. Feel. Everything and nothing and all in between––feel it all. Flushing through your veins––let it in, let it sit and then let it go. Slowly, but very surely, replace all of the forgotten with all of the new. Add to it, mix to it, blend whoever you were, who you are now with who you are about to become. Alchemy—turn it to gold. Turn you. It is easy. Try. All of you. Every part. Stir the storms with the rainbows, the pleasure with the pain. Create. Forget the old. Sprinkle in new. Stardust. Magic. Wanderlust. Mystery. Moonlit skies. Forests. Deserts. Sparkle. Dance. Have faith. Go. Find. Don’t look far. It is there. It always was, always has been. Right there, right here. Right now. Be free. And each time you are overwhelmed, or hurt, or angry or in pain—go back to the top, read once more, unlearn, forget and begin again". http://www.elephantjournal.com/2015/03/forget-everythingand-remember-this/

As I began to love myself… Charles Chaplin.

"“As I began to love myself I found that anguish and emotional suffering are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth. Today, I know, this is authenticity. As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody if I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this person was me. Today I call it respect. As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life, and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow. Today I call it maturity. As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance, I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens at the exact right moment. So I could be calm. Today I call it self-confidence. As I began to love myself I quit stealing my own time, and I stopped designing huge projects for the future. Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in my own rhythm. Today I call it simplicity. As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for my health—food, people, things, situations, and everything that drew me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude a healthy egoism. Today, I know it is love of oneself. As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since I was wrong less of the time. Today I discovered that is modesty. As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worrying about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where everything is happening. Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it fulfillment. As I began to love myself I recognised that my mind can disturb me and it can make me sick. But as I connected it to my heart, my mind became a valuable ally. Today I call this connection wisdom of the heart. We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations, or any kind of problems with ourselves or others. Even stars collide, and out of their crashing new worlds are born. Today I know that is life"! ~ Charles Chaplin

Bruce Lee's quotes to mastery!

Here, then, are 25 of his most famous quotes. True to form, they are short, simple and direct in their wisdom. "Man, the living creature, the creating individual, is always more important than any established style or system. What you habitually think largely determines what you will ultimately become. Take no thought of who is right or wrong or who is better than. Be not for or against. Reality is apparent when one ceases to compare. — There is “what is” only when there is no comparison at all, and to live with what is, is to be peaceful. A good teacher protects his pupils from his own influence. To know oneself is to study oneself in action with another person. Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it. If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. Do not deny the classical approach, simply as a reaction, or you will have created another pattern and trapped yourself there. Real living is living for others. I’m not in this world to live up to your expectations and you’re not in this world to live up to mine. Many people dedicate their lives to actualizing a concept of what they should be like, rather than actualizing themselves. This difference between self-actualization and self-image actualization is very important. Most people live only for their image. It’s not the daily increase but daily decrease. Hack away at the unessential. The stillness in stillness is not the real stillness; only when there is stillness in movement does the universal rhythm manifest. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable. A good martial artist does not become tense, but ready. Not thinking, yet not dreaming. Ready for whatever may come. When the opponent expands, I contract; and when he contracts, I expand. And when there is an opportunity, “I” do not hit, “it” hits all by itself. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves. Moving, be like water. Still, be like a mirror. Respond like an echo. Things live by moving and gain strength as they go. Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind. A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn from a wise answer. If you don’t want to slip up tomorrow, speak the truth today. A quick temper will make a fool of you soon enough. The knowledge and skills you have achieved are meant to be forgotten so you can float comfortably in emptiness, without obstruction. If you want to learn to swim jump into the water. On dry land no frame of mind is ever going to help you. If there is a God, he is within. You don’t ask God to give you things, you depend on God for your inner theme. -Bruce Lee

Flex and un-flex, the POWER in choice is here:

"Adopt an attitude of flexibility. If there's one emotion to cultivate to guarantee success, it's the ability to change your approach. Throughout your life there will be situations you won't be able to control. Your ability to be flexible in your rules, the meaning you attach to things, and your actions will determine your long-term success or failure, not to mention your level of personal joy". -Tony Robbins

Thought of the day:

Focus on generosity. Working on making my part of the exchange more valuable. *If I am already filled energetically and over flowing, then I am able to give more. I must be able to receive in order to give, and not the other way around. Constantly be filling up, so that is is not a depletion to give…but in giving, it fills me up! FOCUS ON GENEROSITY.

Thought of the day:

I will be frank, I loath daylight savings. I wish we could just stay with one time, like Arizona and HAwaii. Daylight savings, especially in Spring, is like suffering from severe jet lag for up to a week. It is important to recognize this, and be kind and gentle with ourselves during the transition. It is totally ok to sleep and rest! My best advice actually comes from my loyal companion, my standard poodle, Molly. She suggests we go for a walk immediately upon rising. Get into the sunshine/sunrise ASAP to start your day, get going! Get those endorphins pumping, and start off the day energized and feeling good; as well as resets our internal clocks. This will help adapt you to daylight savings with ease. XOXO, Meta-Maria

Anna recommends Maria to "Anyone looking for first class, top shelf, elite bodywork"!!!

"I can’t say enough great things about Maria! She has worked on both my husband and myself for several years now. We have gone in for both specific injury rehab needs and for pure relaxation. > Maria has an amazing ability to “read” the body and tailor her skills for just what you need on that day. And she is extremely knowledgeable about body mechanics so she’s a great partner in recovery. She is open and warm and I always feel like I did something great for my health and general wellbeing when I get up off her table. > > I have and will continue to recommend her to anyone looking for first class, top shelf, elite body work". -Anna B. (Queen Anne)

Thought of the day:

I better live up to my potential. I'm Rooting for Maria! Maria works!!! I am valid, and I trust Maria. I enjoy being integrated. I will work on NOT acting stupidly, and respect my power. I hold this close to my heart as I converse with myself, and I expose myself to you, so that you may love yourself with awareness and kindness too. XOXO, Meta-Maria!

Caitlin H. Of Queen Anne thinks Maria Is "Bar none, the VERY BEST MASSAGE THERAPIST".

"I have been getting massages off and on for the past 20 years and Maria is bar none the very best massage therapist I have ever been to. I think the reason she is so good is that she puts her body, mind and spirit into her work. She is completely present with clients. I cannot recommend Maria more highly!" -Caitlin H. (Queen Anne).

Alison thinks, "Maria is an amazing massage practitioner and healer"!

"Maria is an amazing massage practitioner and healer! Walking into the office you immediately feel your stress melt away as Maria greets you with her warm smile and peaceful energy. She genuinely cares about her clients and believes in bringing the whole body, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally into balance. Her massages are more of a spiritual experience, working with your body on a very intuitive level. And for those of you who seem to think a female masseuse is unable to give a truly deep tissue massage, Maria will prove you wrong. The most amazing part is that she is able to do so without it feeling like she is even trying. I no longer live in Seattle, but whenever I come back for a visit, I try to get in for an hour or two with Maria". - Alison T (San Francisco)

Practice makes better.

Today's flight: BEautiful day! I was listening to island music before flying, to relax. I'm committed to my relaxation this flight. I was going over the last flight in my mind, to make changes with this flight, improving on last time. I came to Larry with more questions before we took off, and the conversation proved helpful. LArry commented on how well I taxied us out of the hanger, to fuel and to runway for take off. I felt much more relaxed this week. I tried a new way of taking off based on our conversation and my questions. I lifted us up three times with so much power and ease, letting the plane do her thing, she wants to fly! GAve her full throttle, then ever so slight lift, and not allowing the nose to come up too high. leveling wings, as they played with the slight cross wind. Cut back the throttle to 20, prop to 23… wing flaps down 10 degrees… staying in the pattern… and so forth. Larry practiced a short runway takeoff, and this plane is so high performance….we were up very quickly! As I flew, I practiced maintaing altitude, which can be tricky with turbulence, and the ride was turbulent in patches today! LArry warned me of the increase of turbulence as the weather improves, we will hit more patches, so I breathed deep, and found relaxation in the turbulence, it bothered me little to not at within moments. I also Feel like I accomplished a firm understanding of the trim wheel, and keeping her trimmed, while I do less. My first landing was incredible! We both said how our landings have been WAY TOO FAST. We are coming in at 90-100 knots, and larry is used to this because he used to have floats on the plane, and you come in faster via water. So today we began at 80 knots. still pretty fast, but I had it smooth, and I was great with braking! Second landing we took her down to 75, third 70…WAY better! I worked on my turns, and pitching/banking. Larry said my 90 degree turn was "fantastic", kept nose level, and leveled out the plane. I did a great job of not letting the nose go up as we crossed the shoreline too. I am beginning to understand what he means when he says, "YOU will wear this plane". I like the feeling of "wearing the plane"! She is a brilliant plane… and he said, "you know, nobody learns on a 206! Their is a lot going on, WAY more, and we are moving faster!!! In many ways, it would be easier for you to learn in a 152/172. Less to manage, you don't go as fast". It did seem like a lot to pay attention to at first, I was really overwhelmed, but now, I feel much more comfortable with about 15 hours of flight time with Larry. Time of my life!!! SO thankful, love wearing the smile. Until next Tuesday, weather permitting.

Thought of the day:

Leila B. SAys I am "one of the best in my field, and BEST IN SEATTLE".

"Maria Toro is easily one of the best in her field, and definitely the best masseuse in Seattle. As well as being one of the most welcoming and personable people I have ever experienced, Maria offers a wide range of massage techniques to cater to all needs. I have visited her for both a pampering massage and another time to address chronic shoulder pain and in both instances she used different techniques to insure the best results, leaving me feeling energized and loosened up after the session. The icing on the cake is her extremely affordable prices and intimate workspace, her studio is tucked away on Queen Anne Hill away from the congestion of the city, making parking a breeze and traffic a non-issue. I definitely recommend trying Le Guerisseur to anyone looking for a one of a kind massage experience". - Leila B. (New York and Queen Anne)

Choose wisely.

Everything comes down to choice. Including HAPPINESS: It starts with YOU and YOUR mindset. Happiness will not come with your job, will not come with money, will not come with any (fill in the blank) circumstance. But, happiness DOES start with YOU. Think happy, choose happy. Be happy. XO, M.Toro!

I will be your safe place, and I need you to be mine. THAT is LOVE.

"Lately I’ve been thinking about who I want to love, and how I want to love, and why I want to love the way I want to love, and what I need to learn to love that way, and who I need to become to become the kind of love I want to be ... and when I break it all down, when I whittle it into a single breath, it essentially comes out like this: Before I die, I want to be somebody’s favorite hiding place, the place they can put everything they know they need to survive, every secret, every solitude, every nervous prayer, and be absolutely certain I will keep it safe. I will keep it safe." —Andrea Gibson ‪#‎TodaysMantra‬

Amanda W. RECOMMENDS Maria J. Toro, LMP for MASSAGE/bodywork and art.

"I came out of my session with Maria feeling powerful in my body. It was not only a massage, but a session in healing. As a runner and athlete it is nice to find a massage therapist who has first hand experience with the major problems and injuries athletes can acquire. She gave me tips and exercises to do at home to continue healing everyday. Her practice isn't bogged down by the rules of spas and clinics so she has more power over the time and essence of your session, it IS about you. Her space is comfortable and beautiful, decorated with her own artwork (which I loved). With an open heart I would recommend Maria to anyone looking for a massage therapist." -Amanda W. (Seattle)

Detox

Did you know that our glorious bodies are detoxing all of the time! It's true. It is happening now, and we can do a few more things to help out along the way: First thing in the morning upon waking, HYDRATION. Add lemon or apple cider vinegar to balance PH, liver flush and healthy digestion.
