Word Up Yo!

"You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection." -Buddha

Sleep Tip:

Here is a tip I found from John Tesh, "Sleep Tip: If you always wake up during the night, try massaging your ankles before bed....specifically the indentations just below your ankle bones. Researchers at the University of Arkansas say an ankle massage stimulates the nerve pathways that boost production of the calming hormone oxytocin……Which should help you wake up less often during the night. Experts say that 3 minutes of massage is all it takes for a better night’s sleep."

Maria J. Toro, LMP is a true pro!

"Maria is a true pro! Our entire family has been going to her for 15 years. Her new studio on upper Queen Anne is amazing, an easily accessible, lovely space that makes you want to relax the second you enter. She is able to address any problem. Simply put, I can't imagine life without her." -Jan B. of Queen Anne

"You only get one body, it is the temple of your soul. If you truly treat your body like a temple, it will serve you well for decades. If you abuse it, you must prepare for poor health and lack of energy." -Oli Hille

Thought of the DAY and a Word Up YO!

Fred Rogers said, "Play is the work of childhood." What if we made a life evolving around play? as children we actually learn thru playing, so why isn't this continued into adulthood? Be PLAYFUL dear ones. Learn as you play, play as you play, laugh and enjoy, its not a break from life, its a way of life.

Word UP yo!

”An amazing thing happens when you get honest with yourself and start doing what you love, what makes you happy. Your life literally slows down. You stop wishing for the weekend. You stop merely looking forward to special events. You begin to live in each moment and you start feeling like a human being. You just ride the wave that is life, with this feeling of contentment and joy. You move fluidly, steadily, calm and grateful. A veil is lifted, and a whole new perspective is born.” ~unknown

Word Up Yo:

"If you’re exhausted after a full night’s sleep, you’re probably not reaching the deepest stages of sleep. So try this: An hour before bed, turn on some soothing music – even if it’s just playing in the background while you do other things. People who listen to 60 minutes of relaxing music before bed slow their heart rate and brain waves – and lower their blood pressure. That primes you for sleep. Relaxing music also acts as a sedative by reducing the amount of nor-adrenaline – a stress-related brain chemical – that circulates through the blood stream. And the more nights in a row you listen to relaxing music before bed, the faster you’ll fall asleep. It's the "practice makes perfect" idea. Eventually, your brain masters the technique of relaxing before bed." -John Tesh

Thought of The DAY:

Positive mindset, and paying it forward. Choose to think positive, because this is the world you live in within your mind. Your positivity effects others, choose to leave their space better than how you walked in. POsitive times positive equals positive. Make your choice. You get to practice all of the time:) XOXO, Meta-Maria

WORD UP YO!

"Do one thing everyday that scares you." -Eleanor Roosevelt

Be a KIND human, PAY IT FORWARD, Random Acts of Kindness:

Random acts of kindness makes us feel better than splurging on ourselves. Treating a friend to a tea/coffee as a surprise, or gifting massage:)… Small gestures light up the pleasure area in our brains, that make us feel more connected to others, according to a study done by The University of British Columbia. The late Princess Diana Said, "Carry out a random act of kindness, without no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you." It actually feels good to give and be generous. Energetically affecting others to be more giving, and creating a space for continuous joy and pleasure. What will it take to create more transmitters with human to human contact of generosity, kindness and pleasure?!! Air on the side of generous, because it feels so damn good:)! XOXO, Meta-Maria!

We all have it, INTUITION. Practice makes better:

Intuition is KNOWING, without knowing how you know. Trust your intuition. Some of the best advice you will get will come from your gut instincts.

Massage your calves before bed!

"Want to fall asleep faster? Massage your calves before bed. You’ll drift off almost twice as fast. University of Miami researchers say it works by stimulating the nerves in the legs that soothe the adrenal glands – and those are the glands that pump out stress hormones that can keep you awake." -John Tesh

“When your horse follows you without being asked, when he rubs his head on yours, and when you look at him and feel a tingle down your spine you know you are loved…do you love him back?” – John Lyons

Thought of the Day:

Massage can cure neck pain. I repeat, Massage can cure neck pain, results are immediate improvements and reduced pain. Hour sessions are perfect, and depending on the acute or chronic and severity of pain, one to three sessions a week, for significant improvements in the least amount of time. Massage is therapeutic and healing. Massage heals holistically: body, energy, mind. Frequent scheduled massages relaxes the body on another level for maintenance, where chronic issues need not turn up the volume to immediate attention required. We must maintain our vehicles, our homes, well isn't our body our vehicle, and our home? Put yourself FIRST. Take care of you first, and every other area of your life will improve. Massage can cure neck pain, and improve all areas of your life. Schedule a healing session today, and make it a routine. *Maria J. Toro, LMP, 206-941-8560. Word up Yo!

As per my fabulous Mathematics instructor, Moses Salari, Though, I am uncertain if it should be in quotes as his own, or if the idea belongs to someone else??? SO I will include it in quotes, and I will credit him, but that credit may be due to someone else. And really, None of our thoughts are our own…;) "Everything we do in life is a function of time."

Thought of the Day:

Buried DEEP in your wounds, are SEEDS, waiting to sprout and grow BEAUTIFUL flowers. Indeed you must go into the pain and discomfort to grow. Think of adolescence to teenager, growing pains. Grow into beautiful.
