Cupping is state of the art bodywork.

In a recent client case who came in with neck, shoulder and back pain and highly sensitive. We decided to try the Soma cupping, which is more gentle than the traditional glass fire cupping, in part because the cups are made of silicon and have the ability of movement, which gives more control over the suction. Rotational forces can be introduced to the fascial web, that hands on pushing therapy cannot duplicate. Cupping really helps with trigger points.Once I palpate and locate such areas, applying a cup offers extensive relief. The soma cupping can lift and separate tissues off of each other. This movement creates space for the fascial structures to bath in fluids and as a result rehydrate and make pliable once again. Kinda like a sponge when it is dry vs wet! ridged vs supple. The markings, if you will in this case are turning pink because the blood and the lymph fluids are drawn into the area under the cup. This is also an effective treatment for scars!Since scars are binding in the fascia web, therefore restrictive, loosening adhesions and stimulate proprioceptive feedback. State of the art bodywork! In good health, Be well. Meta-Maria!

Cupping: A little more about the markings.

Cupping therapy is where I am finding this beautiful emergence of bodywork to a more compete state. Where before I was pushing, fingers, elbow deep into the tissue, to meet nervous system at comfort, while going into deeper tissues to break up soft tissues. For bodywork, involving both client and practitioner this cupping modality helps pull out what may have not wanted to push thru. This being experienced first hand, I can see a heightened speedy recovery if the client takes care of themselves following the treatments. Meaning hydrate, maybe ice, Espom salt soak, keeping warm, and get a good nights sleep. Stretching is vital. From the moment you get off the table, continue to open your body, keeping full range of motion. This is a daily practice. The marks can freak some people out, visually. As a practitioner I am interpreting the results. after removing the cups, you can discern the clients condition. If appear most, that is "damp" or yang deficient. If the skin marking is colored dark red or purple or blackish, or filled with spotted bruises, and or warm to the touch, that is considered "Overheated" and yang excessive. If the skin markings are dark red or purple but no spots or not warm tot the touch, the clients internal condition has stagnated blood. If the skin markings have no change to cold or touch the client is yang deficient. If the client is itchy or wrinkled, the clients internal condition is cold and gaseous. The cupping is an invaluable tool for massage and bodywork. It is about creating balance, or homeostasis in the body. Healing. Start today with bodywork on a regular schedule. As humans, body loves routine. I recommend weekly or every other week. Stay on a routine schedule, your body will really appreciate it, and won't shout with loud pains. Everything will be maintained. Try cupping, gorgeous when Eastern and Western modalities blend in wisdoms for healing! Stay healthy my friends… I am here to lean on as a practitioner and educator sharing the ancient technique of cupping for healing and the health of your body. Let's pull out those toxins, injuries, congestions in the tissues, lets find a way to incorporate healthy choices into your lifestyle… for a transformed you by this time next year! With love, Meta-Maria!

Cupping! Cupping on Mercer Island and Queen Anne!

Happy New Year! My hope is that we all put ourselves, and our health first in this upcoming year. From the high density foods we eat to scheduling regular massages/bodywork. I've added a few continued Ed classes to my tool box within the last two months. One of them is cupping! Thanks to Michael Phelps, most of you are now familiar with this very ancient technique of healing. Cupping draws out the wind, or/and the colds out of our body! removes waste and toxins, pulls up fascia and creates spaces for our nerves. I have found cupping to be effective with trigger point releases, and using it combined with contract relax for a deeper release of the muscle and surrounding tissues. Sometimes pushing isn't enough, sometimes it is the pulling that can really bring a treatment together for best results. COme try a treatment and see for yourself! You have 52 weeks ahead of you… make the most of it, and remember to schedule standing appointments, your body will thank you! XOXO, Meta-Maria!

Part of the key to my success is to make a difference in the lives around me even greater.

I read recently, something like, the life of the average human is 25,915 days. How will you LIVE your life? How will you take care of your body? How will you maintain your physical, mental and energetic self? MASSAGE is key, and part of a balanced equation. Knowledge is power and essential to healing. Massage heals on many levels.Massage makes us feel shinier and full of more vitality. Feeling higher octane after restoring from a deep relaxation. Massage heals injuries. Part of the key to my success is to make a difference in the lives around me even greater, and I know massage is healing in such a deep profound way, especially with all of the modalities I combine in a treatment/session. Massive expansion of THANKS.I feel good when you feel good. XOXO, Meta-Maria!
